Aitchison to admit students on merit: Gov

LAHORE  - Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar Wednesday announced that admissions in all public sector colleges including Aitchison College will be done on merit.
The governor expressed these views while presiding over Board of Governors of Aitchison College. It was also decided at the meeting that the fees of the college would not be increased.
The BoG meeting was attended by the College Principal Shamim Ahmad Khan, GOC Dr Safdar Abbasi, Dr Aisha Ghous, MPA, Raza Ali Khan and Dr Umar Saif.
Meanwhile, the governor called on European Union ambassador Lars Gunnar Sigemark at the Governor House. The two leaders discussed the bilateral issues like trade, commerce and others.
The governor said that Pakistan is a peace loving country that conferred countless sacrifices for global peace. He said all the political parties, institutions and nation were united to combat war on terror.
Lauding the business friendly policies of the present government, the governor said, the trend gave rise to foreign investment in the country. The continuity of democratic process delivered and people of Pakistan were the major beneficiary of the democracy.
