ISLAMABAD - Islamabad police on Wednesday performed rehearsal to tackle any emergency situation in the presence of its bosses.

"The rehearsal was conducted to improve police's level of efficiency and preparedness to response to any kind of emergency situation through SOS call," a public relation officer of ICT police said.

Officials of bomb disposal squad, police commandos, Pakistan Rangers, Rescue 15, CID, CIA and special branch of Islamabad police, traffic division, CDA fire brigade and ambulances participated in the rehearsal.

The police spokesperson said the rehearsal was conducted following directions of Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Aftab Ahmad Cheema.

Police officials along with commandos rushed to a site, cordoned off the area after reaching there within seven minutes and took their positions within approach time.

The purpose of this rehearsal was to prepare cops for emergency situation and to ensure security in the federal capital.  IGP Cheema and SSP Muhammad Ali Naikokara have appreciated the response of the police force and said all the wings approach within time and police commandos performed well.
