LAHORE - Estimated 20 tons of waste is expected to be generated daily at 26 Ramazan Bazars established across the city under District Government’s administration where Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has made special arrangements for timely waste removal and transportation.

As many as 116 sanitary workers along with machinery have been deployed in the bazaars besides placing 89 additional waste containers and 62 wheelie bins for effective collection. Customized waste bags have been provided to shopkeepers for collection and disposal.

Ramszan cleanliness plan also includes arrangements in major commercial markets, mosques and graveyards throughout the month. Turkish companies Albayrak and Ozpak will ensure execution of plan effectively.

Operations will be monitored and supervised by senior manager operation Suhail Anwar Malik and senior manager planning Asif Iqbal. Besides cleanliness arrangements, massive awareness activities will be carried out to sensitize citizens especially shopkeepers and buyers requesting to ensure avoid littering and use of waste containers to maintain clean and environment throughout holy month.
