LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that the silence of the representatives of South Punjab for their rights amounts to disloyalty with the poor masses of the area.

The only solution to the vows of the poor people of South Punjab is a separate province where it will be ensured that the people get their due constitutional rights.

He said at present the area lacks clean drinking water, education, health facilities and many more basic human requirements. He said the budgetary figures are just an eye wash and the rulers stand exposed after not fulfilling the promises they made with the people of South Punjab.

The PAT chairman said that the time has come to not get but snatch their rights as many politicians have played politics on the rights of the poor people of South Punjab.

“Many have promised to make a new province of South Punjab but nothing has materialized as yet but to speak the truth not a single inch of movement has been made on this issue,”  he said.

He added that the people of South Punjab will have to come out on the streets for their due rights including the formation of a new province of South Punjab.

Talking to the deputy secretary general of PAT Aamir Fareed Gorriya, who hails from South Punjab, Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that three years have passed since a resolution was passed for a new South Punjab province in the Punjab Assembly but that resolution has been thrown in the dustbin.

He said the people of South Punjab must now take note of this criminal act and should hold accountable the elected representatives of South Punjab. He reminded the people of South Punjab that now they will have to fight for their rights as the rulers will never give them their rights without a fight.
