Child abuse is the physical or emotional abuse of a child by a parent, guardian or other person. Reports of child abuse, including sexual abuse, beating and murder have jumped. Some authorities believe that the number of cases is largely under report. Child neglect is also including in legal definition of child abuse to cover instances of malnutrition and inadequate care of a child’s safety.
Most child abuse cases takes place in the home and is started by person are known to and trusted by a child.
A number of children face abuse every day and no one notices it because society does not understand what abuses is. In many countries, girls face mental and sexual abuse. Child abuse can be in many ways emotional, sexual and child neglect. Child abuse is not only physical violence; it also includes emotional abuse and neglect. Adults who suffered abuse or ill treated in childhood are more likely to abuse their own children.
Parents who struggle with anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder or other mental illnesses are less able to cope with the stress of parenting and may be more likely to engage in child abuse. Child abusers often were abused as children. It’s hard to imagine someone intentionally hurting a child. Yet children are abused. The most serious cases of child abuse are end in death.
