UK envoy, Hamza discuss matters of mutual interest

LAHORE - British High Commissioner Thomas Drew met PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz.

According to a handout, matters of mutual interests, relations between Pakistan and Britain and promotion of cooperation in different sectors were discussed in the meeting. The UK high commissioner congratulated Hamza on the recovery of  Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Hamza said that Pakistan and Britain are strong partners in different fields and ties between the two countries are strengthening with the passage of time. He said that present government, especially in Punjab, under-taking different projects speedily in the fields of education, health and other public sectors. Hamza said that by the year 2018, all major issues including loadshedding would be resolved. He lauded the cooperation by DFID and expressed hope that in future more joint ventures would be initiated.

The UK envoy said that Punjab government under the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a number of public welfare-oriented projects. DFID Director Ben French was also present in the meeting.
