Flip-floppy PPP

PPP leaders have turned the entire nation mad with their constant flip-flopping, lying, and backtracking while always feigning innocence. They have ruined the economy and destroyed the poor by their incompetence, rampant corruption, loot and plunder. Yet they blame every wrongdoing on others. This is what they are doing in case of the Long March too. Till yesterday, they were obstructing every road, street, highway and byway, ruthlessly arresting and beating up lawyers and civil society activists so that they are unable to reach Islamabad. After the success of Long March, they are now taking credit for restoring deposed judges declaring this had been their policy and intent from day one. They conveniently forget a little inconvenient fact, though; their President and a host of other leaders were publicly saying it was impossible. It was pathetic to see Aitzaz Ahsan doing a press conference on the judiciary issue with a PPP banner behind him. He even raised slogans for his party to show they were part of the struggle. This was the party whose government arrested Aitzaz on the day the Long March began from Lahore. -ALI QUERSHY, Karachi, via e-mail, March 16.
