MULTAN (APP) - Over 12.68 million bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of March 15, says a fortnightly report released by Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) here on Thursday. The arrival figures show an increase of 12.2 percent as compared to arrivals recorded during corresponding period last year. Out of the total arrivals, some 12.67 million bales have been ginned. Total 12.36 million bales have been sold out including 11.56 million bales to textile mill owners and 795,648 bales to exporters. Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) did not intervene in the buying activity due to stable cotton market. Some 317,374 bales were lying with the ginners as unsold stock. Arrivals in Punjab were recorded at 8.454 million bales that is 1.7 percent above the arrivals recorded during corresponding period last year. In Sindh, the arrivals were recorded at 4.22 million bales, exactly 41.4 percent above the arrivals recorded last years corresponding period.
