FAISALABAD/HASILPUR/ TOBA TEK SINGH – Strenuous efforts across the Punjab province are being made to fight dengue virus.

In Hasilpur, the Bahawalpur Development Authority Director Admin Mohammad Naeem has been appointed as a field coordinator for dengue campaign in the division.

Reportedly, Punjab govt appointed 6 officers as field coordinators for dengue campaign in all over the province. In which, Local Government and Rural Development Department (LG&RD) Special Secretary Dr Saqib Aziz has been appointed for Gujranwala and Sahiwal divisions, Director General Mohammad Sharyar Sultan for Lahore and Sargodha divisions, LG&RD Additional Secretary Mouzzam Janjua for Rawalpindi division, Additional Secretary Raja Jahgir Anwar for Faisalabad division, Additional Secretary Malik Muhammad Waris for Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan division.

They will visit for their respective divisions in this regard.  

In Toba Tek Singh, the Social Welfare Department and different local NGOs arranged a walk to raise awareness about the precautionary measures and treatment of dengue virus.

The walk started from Government College for Women was led by TMA Administrator Haroonur Rashid.

On the occasion, he also addressed the participants. EDO Ch M Irfan, Happylife organiser Sultan Sidhu, EDO Health Dr Ashraf Javed and DO-Health Dr Nawazish Goraya also participated in the walk. They urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures to fight the menace of dengue.

In Faisalabad, under the directions of Punjab CM, Wasa is organising a seminar to create awareness regarding the preventive and precautionary measures against the dengue virus.

The seminar will be held on March 14 at 11:00am at Lyallpur Hall Chenab Club. Wasa MD Syed Zahid Aziz has said that Dr Waseem Akram will be the chief guest, while Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain, DCO Naseem Sadiq, FDA DG Ch Ashraf and other officers would also participate in the seminar.

He said that Wasa DMD Services Waseem Ahmad Hashmi had been appointed as focal person for the seminar.
