LAHORE – Pakistan openers Nasir Jamshed and M Hafeez, who both scored centuries in the Asia cup match against India on Sunday set new partnership records. When the Pakistan’s opening partnership of Nasir-Hafeez was broken in 36th over on 224, it was the highest partnership in the event. They beat the previous record of 223 runs partnership in the event, which was set by Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik and Younus Khan against Hong Kong. It was also the highest opening stand in the event. It was also the highest opening partnership stand for Pakistan against India and the second best opening stand in ODIs overall. Hafeez and Imran Farhat hold the Pakistan’s highest opening wicket partnership record of an unbroken 228 runs against Zimbabwe. Nasir scored 112 runs on 104 balls while Hafeez contributed 105 on 113 balls in this 224 runs stand.
