JKJCCI for end to hurdles in trans-LoC trade


MIRPUR – The AJK business community has stressed the need for making the trans-Line of Control trade between Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian Held Kashmir vibrant and longlasting.
The AJK business community leader and former president of the Jammu & Kashmir Joint Chambers of Commerce & Industry emphasised the need for facilitating cross-LoC trade for its survival besides assuring fullest support to the business fraternity to make it a successful trade at both the sides.
Abbasi, who headed the first trip of official trade delegation of AJKCCI to  Indian held Jammu Kashmir, said, “The business community feels that the trans-LoC  trade could bring businessmen closer by paving the way for encouraging the peace process between the two countries.
Referring to the ongoing trans-LoC trade, Zulfiqar Abbasi said that industrialists and traders of either thanked the governments of Pakistan and India for facilitating through Muzaffarabad-Srinagar and Rawalakot-Poonch  routes between AJK and IHK in 2008.
Abbasi pointed out that a 19-member delegation of AJ&K Chamber of Commerce & Industry visited Srinagar, Jammu and other business hubs of occupied Kashmir in order to translate the vision of the leadership of both the countries into concrete trade activity.
During the visit the business community across the LoC discussed in detail the potential and volume of the trade, modalities of the trade agreed so for, issues and problems faced by the businessmen and traders.
