MIRPUR (AJK) - The country’s second largest water reservoir, Mangla dam, touched its dead level of 1040 feet on Sunday, affecting hydel-power generation.

The Wapda sources said that inflow of water in the dam was 15800 cusecs against the 16600 cusecs discharge of water from the dam. There had also been a considerable decline in per-day power generation from the dam.

Following the persistent decline in the inflow of water, the discharge of additional water from the reservoir was becoming difficult, the sources hinted.
