BUREWALA - Tehsil Bar Association (TBA) office-bearers and members welcomed the Punjab Bar Council’s decision to audit Rs5 million development funds and criticised former office-bearers for not presenting the record to the auditor, said a press release issued here Wednesday.

Burewala Bar Association Vice President Rao Habibur Rehman, former general secretary Shahbazur Rehman Bhutta, Chaudhry Fiaz Azim, Muhammad Saeed Gujjar and Chaudhry Ibrar Hussain Advocates in their press release welcomed the PBC’s decision to audit the aforesaid funds.

They condemned formers president Mahar Tahir Amjad, general secretary Mian Saqib Ijaz for not cooperating in this regard. They demanded the PBC to take strict action against them.

PBC Auditor Nadeem Shahzad Kokab Advocate also confirmed that the former TBA body has not yet submitted record.

When contacted, Mahar Tahir said that auditor approached him without any prior notice and due to the absence of former general secretary, they could not present the record. He said that grant was given by the federal government and federal secretary law has many times expressed his satisfaction over the quality of the development works and his opponents are raising the issue due to their personal grudge.
