LAHORE – The mother of the girl who died in a robbery bid resistance in Shahdara Town on Saturday succumbed to her injuries at the Mayo Hospital on Sunday. Basheeran Bibi, the mother of Sumera (firing victim), Humera, Asima and Fakhira had sustained multiple bullet injuries during the wee hours’ dacoity in their National Fan Colony home.
The injured women were shifted to the Mayo Hospital where Sumera was pronounced as dead. On Sunday morning, Basheeran Bibi also breathed her last. Meanwhile, panic has gripped the area over the double murder incident. The residents of the area have accused the Shahdara Town police of involvement in many of the recent armed robberies in the area.
IG :Punjab Police Inspector General directed Faisalabad RPO to create a peaceful atmosphere for the business community in the City and also improve crime situation. The IG reached Faisalabad on Sunday in the fourth phase of his tour. Addressing the senior police officers at Police Complex Faisalabad, the IG said that they should adopt all positive measures to provide adequate security to the people of Faisalabad. He directed them to create a peaceful atmosphere for business community so that they can perform business activities in a protective atmosphere.
The Police Chief further stressed upon them to perform their duties diligently, devotedly, honestly and also make the police uniform as a symbol of security and peace for the people. He also disclosed that the concept of policing has entirely changed due to the influx of extremism and terrorism.
Later, the IG also addressed the police officers at a Police Darbar held at Police Lines Faisalabad.
RPO Faisalabad, CPO Faisalabad and police officers of Faisalabad Region were also present on this occasion. On this occasion, the IG Punjab requested to the mediapersons to join hands with the police department to root out the crime from the society and play their role as a guide.
