QUETTA - Two people were killed and another wounded in separate incidents of firing in different towns of Balochistan on Sunday while a truck driver was kidnapped in Gandawa of Jhal Magsi district.

Unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate firing at Sardar Munir Mengal Road near Sariab killing Bismillah Khilji on the spot.

The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime. Police rushed to the site after the incident and moved the body to hospital for autopsy. However, motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained.

The victim was a member of Local Bus Association.

A large number of relatives of the deceased person reached the hospital after being informed about the killing and took out a protest rally demanding for immediate arrest of the culprits. The protesters also set old tyres on fire at Manan Chowk that caused a massive traffic jam.

In another incident, a person was killed by the firing of bandits in Usta Muhammad area of Jaffarabad district. Khalid was passing from Hajwani graveyard when he was intercepted by armed men who tried to snatch his motorbike. On offering resistance, the bandits opened firing on him. He was killed on the spot.

Police said that it was a case of motorbike snatching while a case was registered against unidentified people.

In another firing incident, a person identified as Syed Abdullah was injured when unidentified people opened firing on him in Washuk.

The injured was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment and later shifted to Quetta for further treatment.

Meanwhile, unidentified people kidnapped a truck driver namely Muhammad Anwar from Gandawa area of Jhal Magsi. Levies Force Balochistan sources said it could be a case of kidnapping for ransom and search had been started in the area to trace out kidnappers.
