Only a few days after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with the auto industry the government has decided to withdraw two percent general sales tax on auto parts for automobile manufacturers and to offer more incentives to the industry in the coming budget. The Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) and assured them all possible incentives and cooperation.
PAAPAM’s chairman Usman Malik said the industry had an extraordinary session with the Prime Minister during the Pakistan Auto Parts Show 2014 at Lahore. He said the PM’s personal interest has gone a long way to boost the morale of the industry and will give them the heart to perform better. The government has shown its seriousness regarding resolving issues confronting the industry and the country.
