LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Tuesday adjourned till April 23 the hearing of several petitions filed against divided assets of Sharif family for more arguments.

A division bench of the LHC comprising Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Shahzada Mazhar was hearing the case.

As proceedings started, advocate Ali Sibtain Fazli advanced arguments on behalf of Mian Waheed saying the family had not divided the ancestral property fairly and violated relevant laws. He asked the court to order fair division of the Sharif family assets. Several appeals had been pending adjudication since 1993-94 filed by members of the Sharif family. Late Mian Sharif, father of Nawaz Sharif, and his other six brothers had reached an agreement about division of their ancestral property.

However, one of the brothers, Mian Waheed, challenged the division of the property in the court and later all brothers joined the litigation.
