LAHORE -  An additional district and sessions judge Tuesday summoned film actress Meera and her husband Captain Naveed by March 25, for defying court orders, on a plea seeking registration of criminal case on charges of filming a controversial video clip and uploading it on social media.

The court reissued summons after the coupled did not respond the court orders and had been unrepresented for the last three hearings. The court had sought their personal appearance in the case.

Shabbir Hussain, a resident of Mozang, filed the petition submitting that   Meera and her husband Naveed not only hurt feelings of Pakistanis but also tarnished image of the country in world by their ‘immoral’ act.

He pleaded that the couple committed a cognizable offense, therefore, police be directed to lodge a case against them.
