Admin directs FRIs against dengue drive opposers

The district administration has directed that criminal cases be registered against the violators of anti-dengue act and those do not follow the precautionary and preventive measure to avoid dengue larva breeding.
At meeting held to review the anti dengue campaign, the district coordination officer directed that the surveillance for dengue prevention be carried out regularly and special cleanliness campaign be made result-oriented and all graveyards, public parks, plant nurseries and other possible dengue larva sites be cleared as the current season is conducive for dengue breeding.
He directed the officers concerned to ensure regular checking of tyre shops, junkyards and other places so that all chances of dengue breeding could be eradicated. He urged upon launching the wide awareness campaign for sensitizing the general public regarding dengue danger. He said that dengue was a social issue and it could only be controlled by the active participation of the community. He said that special lectures should be delivered in education institutions besides holding of seminars and distributing informative literature.
He said that a dengue control room had also been established at DCO office for ensuring proper implementation of dengue control measures and receiving information’s regarding dengue issues.  EDO Health Dr Waqar Sadiq, Assistant Commissioners and officers of other departments attended the meeting.
