LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Liaqat Baloch has said that democracy and justice are being massacred in Bangladesh in the shape of the victimisation of Islam lovers but Pakistani government is totally indifferent.

He was addressing a protest rally against the issuance of death warrants of the JI Bangladesh chief Mutiur Rahman Nizami at Multan Road.

Liaqat Baloch said that the trials of the JI leaders in Bnagladesh were in violation of the tripartite agreement between Pakistan, India and Bangladesh and the Pakistan government should move the International court of Justice and the UN and stop the execution of the JI leader.

He warned the rulers in Islamabad that the trials in Bangladesh would not be confined to the JI leaders alone as Bangladesh government had already agreed to hold trials of Pakistani civil and military bureaucracy on New Delhi’s bidding.

Commenting on the release of Pervez Musharraf, Liaqat Baloch demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to inform the nation what had prevented him to implement his commitments regarding the former general. He said that Musharraf had made the country a US slave, abrogated the constitution and cases against him were still pending in different courts but the government had quietly allowed him to leave the country.

He said that like Zardari, the PML-N government had been unable to proceed against Musharaf because of its corruption. He said that the corrupt rulers did not deserve any leniency and the nation would have to rise against them.

He said that thousands of educated youth were running from pillar to post in search of jobs but to no avail while on the other hand, the incompetent and semi educated kith and kin of the rulers were working on high government posts.
