LAHORE - The Punjab government believes in youth empowerment at all levels because youth is considered as precious asset for development of any country. In this regards, young generation should keep the spirit to deliver for the prosperity of Pakistan.

It was expressed by Provincial Minister for Education and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Khan while addressing to teachers and students in a seminar on “Pakistan Day” arranged by University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore at Alhamara Hall.

The minister said that there will be no compromise on merit. Because it is core feature of present administration and it is need of the time to stable Pakistan socially and economically. He expressed that Punjab Government is taking measures to address youth properly in education, employment, financial assistance, sports and other co-curricular activities.

He further said that the initiatives taken by Government for improving Pakistan socially and economically are being acknowledged by different organizations of world. It is evidence of successful good governance. In this connection practically universities are being focused to play their real role in bringing change in society.

At the seminar Vice-Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahamad Khalid said that harmony, tolerance and progressive approach always build the society. It was also main objective for the emergence of Pakistan to establish productive and leading environment for better living. He said that we should follow the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and other legends in our life to come true the dreams. In this connection youth can bring change in society by playing its basic role as they did for Pakistan in history.

He also said that UET is big plate form for youth to induce technological development in the society. All sorts of positive activities will be encouraged. Meanwhile Ex-UETians famous TV anchor Shamoon Hashmi and historian Hassan Jaffar Zaidi presented critically comparison between past and present conditions of Pakistan and emphasised on youth to prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges.

In seminar Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid presented crest to Minister for Education and Youth Affair Rana Mashhood Khan and other guests.
