SHEIKHUPURA: Minister for defence production Rana Tanveer Hussain said government could not stop Pervez Musharraf in any way following the decision of Supreme Court (SC).

He said this while talking to members of assembly, newly elected UCs chairmen and journalists at his farm house today.

Rana Tanveer Hussain held that Musharraf surrendered before the courts which he trampled under his boots.

He remarked “Bilawal Bhutto is still politically immature. It is not proper to offer comment on his statement. Criticizing the government by those who bade adieu Musharraf by presenting guard of honor is tantamount to a bad workman fights with his tools.”

He went on to say that Pakistan wants better ties with India for the sake of lasting peace in the region. “Pakistani team is leaving for India on March 27 in connection with probe into Pathankot incident.  Modi government will have to play positive role for establishment of peace in the region,” he stressed.

Responding to a question on his visit to Iraq he said “Iraq is our brotherly country. Pakistan will further fortify bilateral ties with Iraq for its stability, independence, sovereignty and regional security.  Defence cooperation encompassing training of security officers and jawans and exchange of security delegation will also be bolstered with Iraq,” he added. “Iraq can benefit from the outstanding professional training of Pakistan army, he underlined. Pakistan is ready to extend cooperation in boosting defence capability of Iraq,” he observed.

China –Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is historical project, he said adding all the countries of region including Pakistan will benefit from this project.  Energy crisis will be resolved till 2017, he vowed.
