KARACHI: Former chief minister of Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch today said that the former military ruler Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf was allowed to go abroad under a deal with PML-N government.

Addressing lawyers, he said that Pervez Musharraf was allowed to go abroad for treatment under a deal. He should be tried in the court of law, instead of being allowed to go abroad, he said.

He called for strengthening democratic institutions in the country. He further said, “Announcing head money of rebels would not help solve the crisis in Balochistan and reconciliation process in the province should continue.”

He said that the law and order situation had improved, during his tenure as chief minister. He said that about 72 groups were involved in kidnapping for ransom in different areas of the province. But, he claimed, now the situation has improved.
