Lahore - Legendary fashion designer Nilofer Shahid, who is internationally known for her artistic creations has ventured into the field of lawn for her fans. She has designed spring/summer collection 2016 for the House of Ittehad.

The launch of her collection was held yesterday at the Nishat Hotel. The event was attended famous celebrities and the fashion forward people of the city. Designers Kukki and Erum Khan besides a large number of journalist and bloggers were also present. The collection was inspired by the rich heritage, history, art of maestros, Rembrandt to writer Khalil jibran, Empress Josephine Bonaparte and Mughal queen Noor Jahan. The legendary fashion icon Nilofer shahid has lived up to the expectations of people for the lawn fashion by fusing art into classic as well as keeping it contemporary.

The name Nilofer Shahid is and has been ambassador of Pakistan’s traditions and has exhibited and won accolades in the fashion capitals of the world. The dresses are designed to outshine others and are for women of all age groups. Over the years Pakistani fashion industry has traditionally initiated remarkable lawn prints along with desirable summer colours.

All the dresses showcased at the launch were designed according to the theme of regality that are colourful and showcase the luxury and sophistication that gives a feel of couture. Nilofer Shahid told The Nation that the inspiration of this collection was from her previous couture collection Mughal queen Noor Jahan, French empress Josephine Bonaparte, the spiritual poet Khalil Jibran and the rich cultural heritage of Lahore. “This collection is masterfully crafted to make heads turn once people see it. This year the section is about art meeting fashion depicting mastery of Rembrandt and Baroque painting translated into stylish summer attires,” Nilofer was of the view.
