President urges youth to emulate Pak founders

islamabad - President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan was created for upholding the supremacy of the constitution, ensuring justice across the board and prosperity and progress of the people.
Addressing a children’s programme held as part of events to celebrate Pakistan Day 2016 at the Aiwan-e-Sadr yesterday, the President exhorted the youth to always follow the teachings and philosophy of the founders of Pakistan.
On the occasion the children presented speeches, national songs and tableaus wherein the cultures of all the provinces were represented to highlight the significance of Pakistan Day.
President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan was created through a democratic struggle and prosperity and stability in the country can only be achieved through democracy.
The President said that tolerance and patience were hallmarks of Pakistani society but due to undemocratic mindset, terrorism and extremism got promoted in the country. He stated that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase but we should not be disheartened in the face of adversity as such challenges bring the best out of nations.
The President stated that as a result of the decision of the Government of Pakistan the Armed Forces of the country are taking action for elimination of terrorism and called upon the nation to stand by the Government and the Army for complete success of this operation. The President said that the issue of load shedding and other problems were created due to poor planning in the past but now these issues are being successfully addressed.
The President hoped that electricity load shedding would be almost eliminated from the country by 2018.
The President expressed optimism that Pakistan would emerge as the most important country in the region after the completion of Economic Corridor and operationalisation of Gwadar Port.
The President urged the youth not to be despondent as they are the future of Pakistan and should work hard for the progress of the country. The President advised the youth to always uphold Islamic values and their culture and not to blindly ape foreign traditions.
The President said that students were vanguards of the Pakistan movement and the services of Aligarh University, Islamia College Peshawar and Islamia College Lahore were invaluable.
“There is a need to revive the same spirit for Pakistan to progress further”, remarked the President.
The President appreciated the performances of the children in the program and advised them to keep their morale high and acquire education to serve the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that a state-run television channel would telecast this programme on 23rd March in its special transmission to commemorate the national day.
