PESHAWAR - ANP Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan claimed that his party would score high in the coming general elections if free and fair polls were held in the country.

“However, I can say nothing if hidden hands play a role in them,” he said while addressing a public gathering at Perpai village in district Nowshera on Sunday. He alleged that not horses, but stables were sold out in the recently-concluded Senate elections.

“Imran Khan is a sorrow addition in the country’s politics as he ended politeness in the politics”, he said, adding that hurling shoes and throwing ink in political gatherings was matter of grave concern.

He was of the view that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had been levelling allegations of corruption against functionaries of the ANP government. However, despite being in power for over 4 and half years, the government failed to prove a single case of corruption against any lawmakers of the ANP, he said.

He maintained that KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had been accusing the ANP government of massive corruption, however; Khattak forgot the fact that he was also a minister for over 4 years in the cabinet of Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, the then CM KP.

None else that the PTI own ministers and MPAs are making allegations of corruption on CM Pervez Khattak. But unfortunately, the KP Ehtesab Commission and the NAB have so far been unable to check his corruption, which is regrettable, Asfandyar Wali added.

He enquired of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan as to when he would take action against his MPAs allegedly involved in horse trading in the Senate elections. What kind of politics Imran Khan is doing, he questioned. Instead of blaming others for wrong doings, why does not Imran Khan set his own house in order, he said.

The ANP chief said that his party would make a clean sweep if the forthcoming general elections were held free and transparent.

There is extreme corruption in the PTI-led KP government as the mega project of Bus Rapid Transit was launched for the purpose despite the fact that count down of the incumbent governments had already begun. Not only this, the PTI chief has been claiming of having constructed 350 small dams in KP, but in reality, there is nothing on the ground, even not a single dam which had been completed by the PTI, he alleged.

About restoration of MMA, he said that how wonderful it was that one party of this potential religious alliance, the Jamaat-e-Islami, had been enjoying the PTI government in the KP from day one while another, the JUI-F of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, is part of the PML-N government at centre. They, however, restored the MMA because the general elections are around the corner, which means that they have no concern with Islam, but just want to reach Islamabad, he said.

He called upon the government to make Fata as part of the KP province, as, he said, no one could keep Pakhtuns divided anymore.

The public gathering was also addressed by the ANP General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussian and ANP KP President Ameer Haider Khan Hoti.
