MULTAN - At least 443 police personnel recruit class course batch-60 passed out during a parade held at police training college here on Thursday. The cadets displayed their skills including martial arts which they received during nine-month training.
Additional Inspector General police South Punjab Zafar Iqbal Awan was the chief guest of the passing out parade ceremony.
Additional IG South and commandant police training college Deputy inspector of police Gouhar Mushtaq Bhutta inspected the parade. The recruits were hailed from various parts of Bahawalpur region which were given training about martial art, firing, weapon handling, defense tactics and basic computer awareness besides this international standard-based training module search & arrest.
Speaking on this occasion, Additional IG South Zafar Iqbal said that the police job demanded tireless effort and hard work.
He said that constable’s role in police department is like backbone which have directly connection with masses.
Additional IG South Punjab distributed cash prizes among the recruits over better performance during training. He paid rich tribute to the police martyrs. Commandant police training college Gouhar Mushtaq felicitated recruits over completing training and address the problems of masses instead of symbol of fear.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Multan division, Javed Akhtar Mahmood, on Thursday said that the work on 227 uplift schemes of Community Development Program (CDP) phase II at a cost of over Rs 2.10 billion was underway across the division.
About Rs 1.91 billion funds have been spent and all the schemes were entered into the completion stage. Commissioner expressed these views while presiding over divisional coordination committee meeting here on Thursday.
The Commissioner office will fully assist district government for the beautification of the city.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has given a task for uplift plan of the division. He directed geo-mapping of all uplift projects and transparency. Director Development Waqas Khan Khakwani gave briefing to Commissioner about uplift schemes. Newly posted Deputy Commissioner Ali Shahzad, Director Local Government Farooq Dogar and others were also present.
MDA seals 15 illegally constructed shops
Multan Development Authority (MDA) enforcement cell launched operation against illegal commercial constructions and sealed 15 shops constructed illegally here on Thursday.
The enforcement team on identification of town planning staff, raided near at metro route Chungi No-9 and sealed three illegally constructed shops owned by Arif Shah.
Similarly, 10 shops owned by Saleem Anjum and two illegally constructed shops owned by Abdul Hameed at MA Jinnah road were also sealed by the team, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
