ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has pledged to move forward even if Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) opts to part ways with the alliance.
In a telephonic conversation yesterday, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif agreed to take the movement forward without PPP if Asif Ali Zardari opts to part ways with the alliance.
Both the leaders in a lengthy conversation also discussed the en masse resignations and the option of “Jail Bharo Movement”.
Meanwhile, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman also held a telephonic conservation with PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Both the leaders, however, agreed to take the movement forward through joint efforts.
In the conversation, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman asked Asif Zardari to summon the Central Executive Committee meeting of PPP and let the rest of the opposition parties know about their final decision.
Asif Ali Zardari responded that he had summoned the meeting of CEC on April 4 and will soon inform them of the party’s final decision. A detailed discussion was also held upon the slot of opposition leader in Senate.
