SIALKOT - The misuse of the blue revolving lights and government registration green number plates on private vehicles is on peak in Sialkot districts all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils. The people involved in this practice are stated to be very influential politically or close relatives and friends of the local politicians (having no privilege to use this). Reportedly, enjoying their strong relations with the local political figures including the parliamentarians, the private people are posing them as the important political personalities and are misusing the blue revolving lights affixing on their private vehicles illegally and the Sialkot police still remain unable to take any legal action against them to avoid their political influence. Ironically, these private people were enjoying the complete shelter and support of their political bosses in this nasty matter. Some policemen, while requesting anonymity, said that whenever we take action against the misuse use of blue revolving lights and green number plates on private vehicles, local politicians use their full political influence to get freed their supporters. In Pasrur city, the Pasrur city police caught a private person for using the blue revolving light and green number plate on his private car (STA-490). The person introduced himself as Muhammad Mehmood, son of Muhammad Yaqub, a resident of village Haibatpur, Pasrur tehsil. He showed an official letter to Pasrur police regarding having authority to use blue revolving light and green number plate on his private. On this, the police freed him and allowed him to go in the said car having blue light and green number plate. The accused present a copy of a No Objection certificate (NOC) , No. 1/1/2011-CHARIMAN to NPCIH-2011 issued on January 1 2011 by the then Central Chairman Allama Syed Ayaz Zaheer Hashmi of National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony (Government of Pakistan). In the said NoC, Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, son of Abdul Hameed Mughal (Advisor Political Affair Punjab National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony was authorized to use the green name plate and blue light at his own vehicle bearing registration No STA-490 on behalf of Government of Pakistan. According to the some local lawyers, the said committee central chairman Allama Syed Ayaz Zaheer Hashmi was made defunct by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillni. Due to which, he is now not allowed to use the blue light and green name plate on his private vehicle. Reportedly, some fraudulent people were also making the police as fool by showing them the old copies of certificates issued by the local peace committee and they were using the blue lights and green name plate on their private vehicles. It is also noticed that the political representatives right hands and close relatives were using blue lights and green name plates on their private vehicles to put pressure on their political rivals in the rural areas of Sialkot district. While the local peace committee (established at union council level) in Sialkot district was also issuing the certificates allowing their members to use the blue lights and green name plates on their private vehicles though do not have any privilege to use this. Local social, political, religious and educational circles have expressed grave concern over this nasty practice. They have urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Saeed Wahla and Sialkot DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to take serious notice of this situation.
