LAHORE Islami Jamiat Tulaba President Syed Abdur Rashid has demanded at least five per cent increase in the budget for education. Speaking at Aiwan-i-Waqt on Wednesday, he said the government should give top priority to education in case it was serious in bringing Pakistan on a par with developed nations. He said the IJT would try to bring the younger generation on the same platform for the development and progress of the country.According to him, the country needs one system, one language and one syllabus for the educational institutions. He said the annual three-day congregation of the IJT would begin on October 15, which would be participated in by a large number of students from all over the country.An exhibition would also be organized on the occasion, he said. IJT Assistant Secretary General Hafiz Israr Ahmed and Information Secretary Kashif Javed were also present.
