Inquest on after Lahore lady savaged




LAHORE

An inquest kicked off after a 40-year-old woman was found stabbed in her house in the Sanda police limits Saturday.
Complainant Faqeer Hussain told the police that unidentified men forced their entry into his house on Malik Munir Road and stabbed to death his wife Tayyaba Nasreen.
Police investigators said that the wife of the retired schoolteacher was lying dead in a pool of blood as they reached the crime scene. The ex-schoolteacher also informed the police that his wife was present alone when the assailants attacked her. The police have registered a murder case and are investigating with no arrest made yet. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.
Fire
Garments and machinery hundreds of thousands of rupees were burnt when fire broke out in a shop in the Anarkali area on Saturday.
Rescue workers that the fire erupted at the third floor of the building where one Mushtaq had set up a godown for garments. The cause of the fire was said to be short-circuiting. Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the fire after hectic efforts.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in a house on the Lawrence Road. Four fire trucks of the Rescue-1122 along with rescuers rushed to the scene and managed to put out the fire. Household items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes in the incident.
