LAHORE - Lahore General Hospital gets new tube-well and water filtration plant thanks to philanthropists who pooled in Rs 7million.
Chairing a meeting of Patients Welfare Society at LGH, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof Anjum Habib Vohra appreciated philanthropists, saying those who scarify their time and wealth for human welfare purposes were asset of the society. Medical Superintendent Dr Pervez Imtiaz, Sheikh Habib Ullah, Malik Muhammad Aslam, Rahit Shoukat, Yasir Ijaz and Javed Iqbal attended the meeting.
Prof Vohra said that a water filtration plant would also be installed at PGMI. Moreover, CCTV cameras have been installed at entry and exit gates of Administration and OPD blocks for monitoring performance of the staff, he added. The meeting also approved new welfare projects for the hospital. The Principal said that there was no scarcity of people who were always ready to spend money generously on welfare projects.
He said that all the donations given by philanthropists were being used honestly and sincerely. He also paid gratitude to the office bearers of PWS for their cooperation to serve the ailing humanity. The meeting also reviewed collection of donations in form of Zakat in coming Ramadan Sharif. The participants ensured their full support for the cause of welfare of the patients.
