LAHORE - A 24-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in Manawan, police said on Friday. The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.

Mother of two children, Uzma Bibi, was recovered dead from her bedroom on early Friday. She was living along with her children, husband, and in-laws in Talwara Malikpur village.  Her brother told the police that Uzma, who married to Ishtiaq a few years ago, was strangled by her in-laws over domestic dispute. The police were investigating the death.

Man found dead

A 20-year-old man was found dead alongside a footpath in Lohari Gate on Friday morning.  Police said the deceased, not identified yet, was apparently addicted to drugs. The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.

Five houses robbed, Rs2.3million taken away

Dacoits on Friday looted houses, motorists, and passersby in different parts of the metropolis and fled after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth millions of rupees, police sources claimed. Two cars and seven motorcycles were also driven away from different parts of the city.  Four robbers looted family members of Zulfiqar at gunpoint in the limits of Sundar police and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 930,000.  Two gunmen burst into the house of Arshad Malik in the limits of Lower Mall police and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 345,000. Three gunmen forced their entry into the house Muhammad Amir in Shadbagh police precincts and made off with cash, gold ornament and other valuables worth Rs 700,000 after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint.  Two gunmen stormed into the house of Babar Qureshi in Mozang police vicinity on early Friday. The robbers held up the family at gunpoint and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 400,000.

Two gunmen barged into the house Munir Chaudhry in Johar Town and fled after snatching cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 225,000 at gunpoint. Similarly, two gunmen held up Sufian and his family at gunpoint and fled after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 350,000 in the Naseerabad police vicinity.  Robbers equipped with pistols and riding on motorcycles also looted motorists in Township, North Cantonment, Ravi Road, Samanabad, Iqbal Town, and Nawab Town police precincts. Also, two cars were stone away from Naseerabad and Millat Park police areas while four motorcycles were driven away from Nawan Kot, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Defense-C, Nishtar Colony, Lytton Road, Sabzi Mandi, and Shadman police limits. The police were investigating the incidents.
