OUR STAFF REPORTER SIALKOT - The Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration has reiterated to recruit 10 eunuchs on contract basis as recovery officers to collect outstanding water dues amounting Rs20 million from defaulters. Also in February 2011, the TMA had made such announcement in the wake of the castrates demand for jobs in Sialkot TMA. It is the first time in history of Sialkot, when eunuchs were being recruited. These recruitments would be made purely on merit through transparent way, Sialkot Administrator Pervaiz Iqbal Butt told newsmen. He said that the performance of the TMAs recovery staff was unsatisfactory as the staff remained failed in recovering the above mentioned amount for several years. Now, the TMA has re-announced to recruit eunuchs for the purpose. Firstly, eunuchs will be recruited as recovery officers on contract. Then, they will be regularised and special bonuses will also be given to them after their performance, he added. Under the plan, they would go door-to-door for collecting the outstanding dues from the defaulters, as the TMA officials believed that they will wonderfully perform and collect these dues. We have sought applications from suitable candidates for the recruitment, the TMA official added. On the other hand, the local eunuchs have warmly welcomed the decision. Talking to the newsmen here, local guru Ishrat Parveen alias Reema demanded permanent and regular jobs in the Sialkot TMA. He/she said that they would give a good performance as recovery officers. Several govt officials booked for corruption: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered separate corruption cases against several government officials and has also started investigation in this regard. ACE Gujranwala Division Director Naeemuddin Rathor told the newsmen that the ACE had registered separate corruption cases against Patwaries, police, officials of education and health departments and officials of different union councils for having corruption of millions of rupees. He said that the ACE had also recommended the court action against Gujranwala Divisions 35 other government officials.
