Govt takes steps to facilitate pensioners

OUR STAFF REPORTER MUZAFFARGARH - Following the Punjab government orders, the Muzaffargarh accounts office has taken solid steps to solve pensioners problems. Presiding over a meeting in his office, DAO Muhammad Latif Khan Joya said that all the units of the district related to the accounts matters had been computerised. He further said that the salaries of about 24,000 employees in the district were being transferred into their salaries every month. In respect of salary, about Rs 501 million are paid to the federal, provincial and the district government staff. According to of the Supreme Court decision, pensions were being provided for the pensioner through their local bank accounts. Earlier, he said, pension was provided by the National Bank only, adding that now pension system had become computerised. The DAO advised the official concerned that the problems of government employees, pensioners be solved on priority basis and any unjustified failure or delay will not tolerated. He said that any person may contact them directly if he faces any problem.
