RAWALPINDI Nomy Martin Gill of Navy with two superb goals helped Navy to 3-1 victory against Baloch FC Noshki in the eighth Pakistan Premier Football League-2011 match at the Rawalpindi Municipal Stadium on Friday. In the second match Muslim Football Club beat Pakistan Air Force 2-1. Navy team looked a different side as their midfielder Nomy Martin was in prime form, started the match at a fast pace and soon put the Baloch defence under immense pressure. Nomy scored the first goal in the 28th minute through his solo effort. Navy were leading 1-0 at the half time.. Navy forwards went on to the rampage in the second half and attacked Baloch FC but all of their moves were spoiled by the determined Baloch FC defence. In return attack Baloch FC forward Najeeb scored equaliser in the 69th minute on an error from Navy defender which proved costly for them. Nomi Martin once again provided his side the much needed life line by scoring his second goal in the 82nd minute to make his teams tally 2-1. Goal scorer turn goal provider in the last minute of the normal time as Navy defender Ramzan headed in his goal on Nomi's free-kick to give Navy his side a 3-1 lead which remained intact till the final whistle. In the second match Pakistan Air Force (PAF) team were handed a shocking defeat by Muslim Football Club as they were well beaten 2-1 although score line doesn't suggest the actual position of the match. The match was dominated by the Muslim FC and despite taking the lead in the 39th minute through Aamir Hussain PAF never looked like keeping hold to their slim advantage. The match remained 1-0 in favour of PAF till the break. After the restart of the proceedings Muslim players were looking in a different mood and struck two killer blows in the 52nd and 58th minute through Rafique and Hanif to put the game beyond the PAF reach. PAF players tried their best to level the score but all their efforts spoiled by a defiant Muslim FC defence and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Muslim Football Club.
