2 sanitary supervisors suspended


RAWALPINDI – Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) has cancelled holidays of sanitation staff and relief camps were established where relevant staff remained present 24 hours in order to ensure adequate sanitation during Muharram-ul-Haram.
EDO, municipal service Malik Imtiaz Ahmad supervised second phase of sanitation arrangements in Muharram during his visit to Khyaban-e-Sir Syed, Bangash Colony, and other parts of the city.
EDO suspended two sanitary supervisors in Sector A, B, C upon negligence from their duties and directed relevant officers to issue chalan for dumping garbage in Nullah Leh.
District officer SWMD Dr Mazhar Azeem said holidays of the sanitation staff were cancelled, adding that relief camps of the department were also established in Pul Shah Nazar, Fowara Chowk and Committee Chowk where staff remained present 24 hour a day.
He directed to improve sanitation system so as to facilitate citizens during Muharram and negligence in this connection would not be tolerated.
