PESHAWAR  – The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has intensified its recovery campaign against defaulters in the province by recovering Rs. 17 million during the ongoing cleanup operation.

The detection and recovery teams of the company have recovered the said amount during last four days, showing a remarkable success, said Spokesman of Pescp here.

In Swabi-I Division and Swat Circle, as many as Rs 3,52,479 from 123 defaulters and Rs 1,49,342 have been recovered respectively.

In Pabbi-3 Sub- Division Nowshera, Rs 2,10,000 have been recovered from 36 defaulters and Rs.3,17250 from Shereen Kali, Kotarn Kile of Risalpur division while power supply of six consumers disconnected on nonpayment of Rs 2,11,300 outstanding amount.

Similarly, in Pir Pai Sub-Division Nowshera, the recovery teams collected Rs 2,88,792 from 82 defaulters and Rs 37,923 from eight defaulters in Thangi sub division while power supply of 298 consumers of Kalan Dhery disconnected from five transformers and removed 2 span wire for nonpayment of Rs 1.4 million.

Likewise, in Rural Cantt Division Peshawar, Rs 28,86,098 recovered from 622 defaulters while power supply of 34 consumers disconnected for nonpayment of Rs 7,98,904.

In Tank-Division, Rs 1,15,14,478 were recovered from 324 defaulters and Rs 11,50000 in DI Khan Rural division respectively. The Chief Executive Pesco lauded the performance of the recovery teams and directed the other field officials to speed up the recovery campaign.
