KARACHI - The public transport operators showing concern on 5-day closure of CNG stations during last ten days have demanded end to frequent closures, as it has caused not only financial losses to the transporters but the waste of time and mental agony to them as well as commuters.

Seventy percent of the public transport operates on CNG and since the CNG supply that too with very low pressure begins for a very short period, the vehicles have to be queued at gas station for hours,? Karachi Transport Action Committee president Ashraf Banglori, Chaudhry Mazhar Hussain and others said in a joint statement on Sunday.

They said Supreme Court had ordered curtailing the CNG price and hearing of the matter was fixed for November 19 but the authorities used to issue notification frequently for closing down CNG stations in violation of court orders.
