MULTAN : Over 9.51 million bales reached ginneries across Pakistan till Nov 15, registering an 11.73 per cent increase as compared to the corresponding period last year. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to 9,518,130 bales reached ginneries as compared to 8,519,075 bales during the corresponding period last year, says a fortnightly report issued by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) here Monday. The report says out of the total arrivals, Phutti equivalent to 8.56 million bales has undergone the ginning process. Arrivals in Punjab were recorded at 6.2 million or 6,204,334 bales, 8.41 per cent above the arrivals recorded during the corresponding period last year.

Arrivals in Sindh were recorded at 3.31 million or 3,313,796 bales, showing a surge by 18.53 per cent, as compared to the last year.

Exporters have bought 236,720 bales while textile mills purchased 7.3 million or 7,306,125 bales, the report says.

Exactly 1,975,285 bales are still with the ginneries as unsold stock till Nov 15, 2013.
