Five accused involved in the firing incident that occurred in Kohat and left four persons dead were arrested in Peshawar on Tuesday.
According to police, five accused were arrested while arms were also recovered from their possession including seven rifles, one machine gun and three pistols.
A case was also registered against the criminals under the ant terrorism act.
Inspector General Police has also instructed the concerned authorities to obtain the CCTV footage of Kohat firing incident.
It is pertinent to mention that at least four people including two policemen were killed as two armed groups exchanged fire on Monday.
An angry mob set several shops ablaze following the armed clash. The situation in Kohat remained tense and troops were called in to maintain law and order.
City administration and police sealed the entry and exit points of the city, while residents were directed to stay indoors. Intermediate examinations were also cancelled for indefinite period in the wake of violence.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the Kohat violence rose to four as another injured succumbed to injuries in hospital.
According to Commissioner Kohat Jamalud Din, educational institutions have been closed for an indefinite period, as the district administration is scrambling to overcome the volatile situation.
