A meeting of the Steering Committee for the Prime Minister’s Low Income Housing Scheme constituted by Prime Minister of Pakistan was held at the Finance Ministry Tuesday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

“The Government is committed to provide low cost housing to the low income class in keeping with the Prime Minister’s promise made to the people and reiterated by the Finance Minister in his budget speech. The welfare of the people of this country is the prime motivation for the Government of PML-N” said the Finance Minister.

The “Apna Ghar Limited” will be a self sustainable housing project. It will not be a charity project but a Non Listed Public Company formed to build 1000 clusters of 500 houses each. 500,000 houses will be provided to the low income group of the country under this scheme.

The ‘Apna Ghar Limited’ will be formed under the Companies Ordinance. Ministry of Housing has been asked to complete all legal formalities with SECP by 22nd November.
