India’s recent aggression impacting Pakistan’s ongoing campaign against militants: COAS

LONDON- Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has reportedly said, India’s recent aggression at Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir and Working Boundary was negatively impacting Pakistan’s ongoing campaign against the Taliban and al-Qaeda militants along Pak-Afghan border areas, according to BBC Urdu report.

The report said that during the ongoing visit to US, General Raheel had told US officials that India’s move along the border, LoC and the kind of statements coming from Indian leadership were making it difficult for Pakistan Army to effectively fight the militants out in Pak-Afghan border areas.

The report quoted an unmanned US official that General Raheel told the US administration officials that Pakistan had deployed over 150000 troops on it Western Border along with Afghanistan, on the assurance that its Eastern border with India would remain peaceful, but did not happen.
