PESHAWAR - Blaming the Federation for trying to ‘fail’ the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Tuesday that he would take the matter to the Supreme Court.
Speaking to the media after attending the health reforms session, Imran alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was not being given its due share in water.
He alleged that the federal government was not cooperating with the provincial government on the matter of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The PTI chairman said the KP government was bearing the burden of three million IDPs but the federation was not cooperating at all. He said the KP province was not being given any royalty in terms of electricity, water and gas. Responding to the Awami National Party’s (ANP) allegations, Imran said the ANP should wait for three years, adding that everyone knows the amount of corruption done during the ANP’s tenure. He said the KP government had formed an independent accountability commission that would act against the accused without any discrimination.
Imran said providing healthcare facility to the people of the province was PTI’s priority and that the provincial govt would address reservations of the doctors and healthcare professionals. He said hospitals would not be built in the province for the purpose of making profit. Imran said the local administration would be responsible for appointment of the hospital staffers. “Currently, our provincial govt is facing an issue of 5 lac patients,” the PTI chairman said. He further stated that his government had decided to recruit IDPs for police force. “We have written a letter to federation for the recruitment of police,” he said.
