The United Kingdom-based world human rights organization - Kashmir Watch International (KWI) has expressed grave concern over the fast deteriorating health condition of eminent Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik and other freedom leaders who are languishing behind the bars in occupied Kashmir since long.
Addressing video news conference here from KWI’s headquarters in Nottingham, KWI Chief Mir Muhammad Sideeque Khawaja urged the freedom and human rights - loving organizations to take immediate notice of deteriorating condition of Malik, the Chairman of his own faction of Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front, and his associates besides other freedom-loving activists, imprisoned in Srinagar and other jails for opposing the so-called Indian held Kashmir Assembly’s sham election in the Held Valley.
The KWI chief asked India to accept the fact and reality that Kashmir was a disputed territory and its future would be decided in line with aspirations of Kashmiris and UN resolutions.
He said that Kashmiri people were sacrificing their lives for the achievement of their birth right to self-determination since over last six decades.
He recalled that repeated farcical elections drama in globally-acknowledged disputed Indian held Jammu Kashmir under the shadow of the huge Indian guns could never be substitute of Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination.
He underlined that India was one of signatories of the United Nation’s Security Council resolution on Kashmir conflict. He said that Kashmir issue should be resolved in the light of UN’s resolutions through a tripartite composite dialogue among India, Pakistan and representatives of people of Jammu & Kashmir.
