LAHORE - Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab Kh Ahmed Hasaan on Tuesday presided over a joint meeting of MNAs, MPAs and Lahore police to review action plan and beat system evolved by Lahore police for the protection of Lahorites and maintenance of law and order.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG Investigations Shahzad Sultan and SSP Investigation were present on the occasion.

Briefing the meeting, CCPO Lahore Captain (r) Amin Wains said that the chit, card and reference system had been eliminated from the offices of police officers, in order to ensure access of the people to the officers. He added that computer operators of Punjab Information Technology Board would be deputed, along with duty officers in 84 police stations of the city, for addressing the complaints of citizens and ensuring polite behaviour of police with them.

Wains said that the record of the citizens, including name, address and purpose of their visit, would be computerized and daily report would be sent to concerned SP and DSP, who would issue orders on daily basis for resolution of their problems.

“Initially, this project will be launched in 10 police stations of Lahore,” the CCPO held, adding that the pivot of the action plan was solution of problems of common man.

He further said that cooperation of elected representatives would also be sought for the elimination of crimes. The members of the national and provincial assemblies also gave their suggestions for further improvement of police performance.
