LAHORE (PR) - A simple but impressive ceremony was held at Lahore Garrison University to pay tribute to Allama Iqbal. Prof Zahid Munir Amir from department of Urdu, University of the Punjab was the guest speaker on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof Zahid Munir Amir threw light on various aspects of the poetry of Allama Iqbal and elaborated that strong faith, confidence and self esteem are the key to success in life.
Prof Jameel Anwar, Vice Chancellor Lahore Garrison University, addressed the students and emphasised on the need for understanding the philosophy of Allama Iqbal and its application in today’s life.
Later, a speech and poetry competition on the philosophy of Allama Iqbal also took place between the students. Prof Jameel Anwar, Vice Chancellor and Brig (r) Waqar Hussain, Registrar Lahore Garrison University awarded the medals and prizes to the winners of the competition. A large number of students and faculty members were present at the occasion.
