Rawalpindi - The initial medical reports suggested that the Japanese national, whose dead body was found in a hotel room in Saddar, died of natural causes.
The medical reports also proved the rumours wrong that the Japanese national namely Ota Akeera was tortured or suffocated to death, informed a police officer seeking anonymity yesterday.
He said the condition of heart, kidneys, liver, jugular vein, lungs and stomach was also normal in the initial post-mortem report prepared by the doctors.
He said, however, the doctors at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital took samples from aforementioned body organs of the Japanese national and dispatched them to Punjab Forensic Laboratory, Thoker Niazbaig Lahore through a constable of Police Station (PS) Cannt for examination by a chemical examiner.
“The Japanese national died of cardiac arrest but the doctors of DHQ would rely on report of Chemical Examiner of Punjab Forensic Laboratory Lahore,” he said.
The police officer was of view that it was circulated in a section of media that torture marks were found on left eye and neck of Ota Akeera but the medical reports negated all the rumours.
“Police and doctors are waiting for histopath and chemical examiner’s reports for declaring heart attack the reason behind death of the Japanese national,” he said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Cannt Inspector Javed Khan, when contacted, confirmed that Japanese national died of natural causes and was not tortured by anybody in the hotel room. The Japanese national Ota Akeera was found dead in a hotel room, within the limits of Police Station (PS) Cannt, on November 15.

The city traffic police yesterday launched a grand anti-encroachment operation to remove temporary and permanent encroachments.
The traffic police also penalised the vehicle owners for violation of parking.
The anti-encroachment drive was carried out on directions of acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO)/SP Yusaf Shahid.
The areas where operation clean up was launched by traffic wardens included Pindora and Saidpur Road.
During the operation, the city traffic police confiscated dozens of hand pushcarts and other encroachments and moved the stuff to Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Office. The wardens also issued challans to some 30 motorcyclists and vehicle owners for creating hurdles in smooth flow of traffic and violating no parking lots.
Talking to media men, acting CTO Shahid Yousaf said that encroachments have been removed from Pindora and Saidpur Road while goods of encroachers were confiscated.
He said anti-encroachment operation is being conducted in the city areas aimed at to provide relief to motorists who often face problems due to encroachments.
“The cleanup operation will remain continued in city areas and it has further been accelerated and permanent and temporary encroachments will be removed,” he said.
He said no one would be spared and cases would also be registered against the encroachers.
Meanwhile, acting CTO Shahid Yousaf also imposed ban on holding car bazaar at Rehmanabad on Murree Road besides deploying heavy contingent of traffic wardens to take action against the violators.
He said the car dealers should not display cars for sale on both side of Murree Road, as it creates hurdle in smooth flow of traffic. He said cases would be registered against those showroom owners who would violate the ban.
