Expats’ role in Kashmir case lauded

MIRPUR (AJK)-Pakistani-origin Member of the European Parliament Sajjad Karim Friday called on Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and discussed the current situation of the freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir, development in AJK and issues related to the overseas Kashmiris.
The prime minister hailed the services of Sajjad Karim for promoting and highlighting the Kashmir Issue at the international forums.
“Sajjad Karim is ambassador of the Kashmiris and he has rendered glorious services in highlighting the Kashmir Issue in Europe. AJK government and the people of the state welcome his role. Observance of Kashmir week in European Parliament is big achievement of him and his team,” he said.
The AJK premier said that promotion of freedom movement was amongst the top priorities of the government and all the resources were being used to highlight the issue globally. He said the government was also engaged in evolving a comprehensive mechanism with consultation of other political parties for highlighting the Kashmir Issue. He said the government and people of the state had the same stance on Kashmir as All Parties Hurriyat Conference wanted.
Mr Sajjad highly appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider for boosting the freedom movement and assured him of his full cooperation in this regard. Both the dignitaries condemned the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and expressed their resolve to continue their efforts for the peace full solution to the Kashmir Issue.
Earlier, AJK senior minister Tariq Farooq hosted a dinner in the honour of Sajjad Karim. Minister for Sports, Youth and Culture Ch Saeed, Ch Rukhsar Ahmed, Ch Masood Khalid, Chairman Kashmir Council Europe Ali Raza Syed, President Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League Justice (r) Majeed Malik, senior vice president of Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir Ch Pervez Ashraf and other prominent personalities were also present.
