The famous adage 'once bitten, twice shy failed to come good when it came to our security agencies in the provincial metropolis. The FIA office at Temple Road and the Police Academy at Mannawan, both in Lahore, had already had terrorist attacks a few months ago with sizable loss of life and property. One had hoped the concerned security personnel would be more watchful this time round but they proved to be sitting ducks yet again. The Minister for Interior is showering heaps of praises on their 'chivalrous fight back. I wonder why some heads must not roll for lack of foresight and alertness at this level? -DR.
